Yamaha NX Nylon String Acoustic Electric Guitars

Yamaha guitars has announced a new series of acoustic electric nylon string guitars - the NX Series. With the NX range, Yamaha has created something new from the oldest and most traditional guitars, to show that nylon string guitars are no longer just for nylon string players.

The NX Series has six models and includes a choice of NT contemporary thinline or NC traditional body styles, traditional classical or crossover neck profiles, body wood options and spec levels, from the workhorse NTX700 to the handcrafted NCX2000, complete with Yamaha's Acoustic Resonance Enhancement (ARE) technology. This technology gives guitars a more matured sound (as in aged), right out of the box!

Benefiting from Yamaha’s class-leading construction including premium tonewoods, ultra-thin finishes and professional setups, the NX range also features the latest version of the exclusive ART (Acoustic Resonance Transducer) pickup system, in a truly nylon-specific configuration.

Yamaha NX guitars were created to provide a range of performance instruments that not only prove nylon strings are a tone every guitarist should have in their palette, but makes those tones more accessible and usable than ever before.

Yamaha Guitar LLX16TBX Acoustic Electric Guitar

The Yamaha LLX16TSB is the acoustic electric version of the LL16 handcrafted guitar. Since the 1980's, Yamaha’s L-Series handcrafted acoustic guitars have been the flagship of their acoustic guitar line. They have been played by legions of artists including Jimmy Page, Brian May, Paul Simon and John Lennon. The new acoustic electric models like the LL16X combine premium solid woods with class leading pickup/pre-amp technology.

The LLX16TSB features the System 60 ART preamp used on Yamaha's LL26 and LL36 models. The System 60 couples the 3-way A.R.T sensor system to an exclusive preamp which offers ultra-simple controls (3 independent pickup volumes – bass, full-range, treble - and master volume) with hi-fi grade components for the most transparent, powerful acoustic electric system available.

Using custom-designed, calibrated push-push pots, the System 60 controls are designed to offer stage-friendly ergonomics but can be hidden away and not detract from the traditional looks of the L-Series when not in use. Yamaha has recently announced the introduction of the CPX500 and APX500FM acoustic electric guitars. These new models feature the sound quality and craftsmanship of instruments costing much more.

Orson Rock With Yamaha Guitars

A recipe for some pre-Christmas fun: take one London-based Hollywood rock band, throw in a number 1 single that was the undisputed feelgood track of 2006, add a new album just released and send it all out on tour for a month or so. The result? - Orson.

Everyone's favourite pop-rockers and the guys behind 2006's fabulously catchy number 1 single 'No Tomorrow', Orson, have just released their second album 'Culture Vultures' and are currently out on tour spreading the good word. More Than Just Guitars

Yamaha makes more than just guitars, they make keyboards too. One of our most popular models is the Yamaha YDP223 digital piano.

There are many useful features built into the YDP223 that apply to musicians at any level of playing ability. The Yamaha YDP-S30 is a recently introduced digital piano and provides piano playing enjoyment for all skill levels and expands the YDP line with a completely new slimmed-down design.

The YDPS30 delivers a traditional acoustic piano playing experience with the modern benefits of digital audio, including permanent tuning stability, the ability to practice privately via headphones and a choice of six instrument Voices. Exclusive to Yamaha is the way this gets achieved with AWM stereo piano Voices, 88 Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) weighted keys and a built-in 3-pedal frame featuring the Half Damper Effect, which fluidly captures foot motion while pedaling. Other convenient features include a built-in metronome, song recorder and 50 recordings of standard piano repertoire that can be used for simple listening enjoyment or as an ideal practice tool for both beginner and advanced pianists.

Yamaha Guitars Win Award

Yamaha Corporation of America won three 2006 Players' Choice Awards, which are voted on by the readers of Acoustic Guitar magazine. Many voters omitted specific models on their ballots, so the editors bestowed awards on manufacturers.

"These awards reflect players' satisfaction with various types of guitars and accessories they bought with hard-earned cash" that have "passed the test of living-room jams, festival stages and recording studios," wrote the editors.

Yamaha Guitars won a Gold Award in the Classical Guitar category and a Silver Award for Beginner Guitar. Yamaha's nylon string guitars range from the GigMaker Classic package, which includes a C40 guitar, to the top-of-the-line acoustic-electric CGX31C. Yamaha's FG guitars have helped nurture emerging guitarists since their introduction in the 1960's and are among the most popular guitar lines ever sold in the United States.

"Acoustic Guitar readers are very knowledgeable and discriminating," said Bryan Savage, marketing manager, Yamaha Guitars, Pro Audio & Combo Division. "When such a savvy audience singles out Yamaha products, it's a special honor."

Yamaha also won bronze in the PA category. Yamaha's Live Sound equipment is legendary in the industry. "From the compact STAGEPAS to our larger component systems, the goal is to provide versatility, reliability and quality," said Wayne Hrabak, marketing manager, Live Sound, Pro Audio & Combo Division. "This award validates our efforts."

Fender Guitars

In 1951 Leo Fender introduced a prototype solid-body guitar that would eventually be called the Fender Telecaster guitar. The Fender Tele, as it was often called then and still is today, was the first solid-body Spanish-style electric guitar to be commercially mass-produced. As a result of this humble beginning, Fender guitars are one of the most popular brands in the world today.

The Fender Stratocaster first appeared in 1954, and incorporated many design innovations based on feedback from professional musicians, Fender staff and Leo Fender himself. The Strat's third single-coil pickup offered more tonal possibilities than the two on the Tele, and its sleekly contoured body made it more comfortable. The double cutaway design of the Stratocaster made access to upper registers much easier.

The most important innovation on the Strat, however, was the addition of the new Fender vibrato (or “tremolo”) bridge, an innovation originally intended to let guitarists bend strings, thus achieving the pedal steel-like effect so popular among country music artists of the day. Nobody could have foreseen then how the Fender Stratocaster would go on to revolutionize popular music. Essentially unchanged since its 1954 debut, the Strat is the most popular and influential Fender electric guitar ever, and players at all levels and in all genres continue to rely on its sound, playability and versatility to this day.

Fender Musical Instruments Corporation (FMIC) is the world’s foremost manufacturer of guitars, amplifiers and related equipment since 1946. The Fender name has become synonymous with all things rock ‘n’ roll. Iconic Fender® instruments such as the Telecaster, Stratocaster, Precision Bass and Jazz Bass guitars are known worldwide as the instruments that started the rock revolution, and they continue to be highly prized by today’s guitarists and collectors.

Fender has touched and transformed music worldwide and in nearly every genre: rock ‘n’ roll, country and western, jazz, rhythm and blues and many others. Everyone from beginners and hobbyists to the world’s most acclaimed artists and performers have used Fender guitars and amps. Legendary Fender guitars like the Telecaster® and Stratocaster® guitars and Precision® and Jazz® bass guitars are universally acclaimed as design classics.

Yamaha Acoustic Electric Guitars

For more than twenty years, Yamaha has been making electric acoustic guitars, dedicated to creating natural, rich tone captured through innovative pickup and preamp combinations.

Now Yamaha has revisited pickup technology again to achieve another milestone in the path to perfection. Their unique A.R.T (Acoustic Resonance Transducer) system uses purpose-specific multi-layer contact pickups and powerful new preamps to produce clear, natural amplified sounds.

The small-bodied, performance-focused APX, and the fuller-bodied CPX guitars fitted with A.R.T systems provide exceptionally organic amplified tone - closer than ever before to the natural acoustic sound of the guitar.

With a solid spruce top, the Yamaha APX700 projects a warm, mature tone with rich, ringing sustain both acoustically and amplified. The small body and slim neck ensure that, like all Yamaha APX guitars, the performance experience is perfect.

The 1-way A.R.T pickup system in combination with the System 56 preamp delivers a clear, controllable sound thanks to its ultra-musical EQ and adjustable mid frequency control for precise tone shaping.

The Yamaha APX500 electric acoustic guitar is steeped in the family tradition of superb playability, stunning looks and strong amplified tone. With a spruce top and nato back and sides, the APX 500 is the ideal guitar for those looking for a solid, reliable performance electro-acoustic.

A simple, effective 1-way under-saddle pickup system provides the tone, complemented by the System 55TA preamp with 3-band EQ and built-in tuner.

To produce its warm tone and even bass response, the Yamaha CPX700 acoustic electric guitar features a unique body size, slightly smaller than a full-size jumbo, for the perfect combination of sound, looks and comfort. The guitar features a solid spruce top and nato back and sides and produces a bright, richly textured sound - one that, thanks to the solid spruce top, will mature with age.

The 1-way pickup is matched to the System 56 preamp, featuring our ultra-musical 3-band EQ and adjustable mid frequency control for powerful, versatile tone-shaping. Like all the other CPX and APX guitars, an integrated tuner is always available.

At the top of the APX range, the Yamaha APX900 is equipped with the new 3-way A.R.T. pickup system, the result of years of experience in electro-acoustic design and the key to the most natural electro-acoustic sound imaginable. With a high-grade flamed maple back and sides and a solid spruce top, it delivers a bright, mature tone, with a punchy projection and powerful sustain.

The Yamaha unique 3-way pickup system is coupled with the System 57 preamp that allows independent control over the main, bass and treble pickups and features our performance tuned 3-band EQ and on-board chromatic tuner.

Yamaha Guitars

Here at Andy's Music, we have one of the most complete selections of Yamaha guitars available on the web. We've been selling and servicing Yamaha guitars since 1977, and they are one of our best selling - and sounding - guitars. Let's talk about some of our best selling guitars, and find out why they're popular with customers.

When most people think of Yamaha guitars, they think of guitars in the $200 - $400 price range, but Yamaha makes guitars costing thousands of dollars. The Yamaha LL16 handcrafted acoustic is a good example. It features all solid wood construction, comes with hard case, and sells for $899.99! It has to be the bargain of the century.

The Yamaha LL16 Handcrafted acoustic guitar has a solid Engelmann Spruce top and solid Rosewood back and sides. It also features a new non-scalloped bracing design that delivers a beautiful and well balanced tone. Choice materials and Yamaha’s unique ability to blend traditional skills with advanced manufacturing make the Yamaha LL16 an exceptional guitar at a price that’s hard to beat. Now let's jump to the other end of the price scale and take a brief look at another popular Yamaha guitar.

The new Yamaha FG700S acoustic guitar is an excellent choice for a guitarist who's just starting, or someone wanting to move up from a lesser quality guitar. It sounds very good because it has a solid spruce top. A solid top instrument will sound better - most often - than a guitar with a plywood top, and it will also improve in sound quality and volume over time, if it's played.

In addition to the solid spruce top, the FG700S features Nato (part of the mahogany family) back and sides, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, black and white body binding, diecast tuning machines and a natural finish. The FG700S is a lot of guitar for $199 and it has a Limited Lifetime Warranty! Click the link above and check it out.

Yamaha Guitars And Electronic Keyboards

Many people know about Yamaha electronic keyboards and guitars today, but it wasn't always so in the past. Yamaha began over one hundred years ago when a young entrepreneur named Torakusu Yamaha set out to craft a high-quality reed organ. Before long, the company he founded had not only gone on to manufacture Japan's first piano, it had also gained recognition abroad: In 1904, a Yamaha piano and organ were awarded an Honorary Grand Prize at the St. Louis World's Fair.

From these auspicious beginnings, Yamaha grew to become one of the best-loved manufacturers of musical instruments in the world. Silent Guitar - Yamaha Silent Guitar

Silent GuitarThe Silent Guitar series from Yamaha are unique guitars that bring together Yamaha’s knowledge and experience in the making of quality guitars together with its innovative design and quality electronics. As a member of the “Silent” family, the SLG100S is a great instrument for those times when you’d like to practice privately. But more than that, this steel string Silent Guitar offers great versatility, being just as at home in the studio or on stage as it is in your living room or dorm room. It also makes a great travel companion as its detachable frame lets the entire instrument fit into a compact carrying case that’s easy to transport.

Classic or Latin style guitarists will prefer the nylon string version, the SLG100N. This instrument is designed with a slightly wider neck to accommodate the difference in playing style, and like the steel string SLG100S can be used to perform with or for practice.

Both Yamaha Silent Guitars feature modern designs with mahogany necks and rosewood fingerboards on lightweight maple bodies. Proprietary Yamaha electronics are matched with advanced pickup systems that have been chosen to deliver the utmost in realistic tone from each of these instruments. While headphones allow for private practice, both instruments can be plugged into an amplifier or a sound system for live performance. A built-in DSP effects processor lets you add the warmth of reverb to the guitar’s sound without having to plug into any outboard processing gear or effects.

The solid body design of the Silent Guitar lets you turn up the volume without the worry of annoying feedback when performing live. And when it’s time to move on, the composite body quickly breaks down and fits into a compact case for easy transport.

New APX Line Revolutionizes Electric Acoustic Guitar Technology

AUSTIN, Texas — The Yamaha APX electric acoustic guitar line boasts a long history of quality and innovation, similar to the company's celebrated FG acoustic guitar models. The APX series has supplied the industry with technological advancements like the first true stereo, hexaphonic pickup and thinline construction body shape.

Yamaha APX700Now, Yamaha's new APX Series (APX500, APX700 and the APX900) raises the bar for performance electric acoustics by offering a complete aesthetic refresh and adding the revolutionary new Acoustic Resonance Transducer (A.R.T.) pickup system, which captures the guitar's true natural acoustic tone while virtually eliminating feedback. A new preamp with a built-in tuner and frequency adjustable controls also add to the innovative and unparalleled sound quality of the new models."

The new APX line offers an amazingly true-sounding acoustic tone," said Bryan Savage, marketing manager, Yamaha Guitars. "The A.R.T. system represents a breakthrough for accurately reproducing the true resonance of an acoustic guitar, which is one of the most difficult sounds to amplify."

Acoustic-electrics have long vexed guitarists due to feedback and poor sound quality. To develop the A.R.T. system, Yamaha studied all of the methods for amplifying acoustic sounds and devised a better way."

We brought in numerous artists, producers, and sound gurus with a mission of finding and capturing that true acoustic sound," said Savage. "The results are stunning."

Many traditional piezo electric acoustics, using a ribbon transducer, produce a thin and synthetic sound that does not necessarily replicate the true acoustic sound. The new pickup system – available on the APX 700 and the APX900 – features multiple proprietary contact microphones mounted on the underside of the sound board, which capture the guitar's true acoustic resonance.

Designed primarily for live performance, the APX line also includes a shallow body, which makes it easier to play, especially for women and smaller players. Yamaha has also radically updated the line's aesthetics. The APX line also includes a left handed and a twelve-string model."

The completely overhauled APX line is great for guitarists who are looking for an acoustic that is comfortable to play and, more importantly, sounds like an acoustic guitar," said Savage. "The APX has a long history as a launch vehicle for advanced technology and now, we are able to continue that tradition at price points that represent a real value."

The APX500, APX700, APX700L and APX900 performance electric acoustic guitars ship in July 2006. For more information on the new Yamaha APX line, visit www.AndysMusicOnline.com/Yamaha_Acoustic_Electric_Guitars_s/109.htm
